Plastic waste from packaging materials ultimately ends up in the ocean!
If we do not dispose of waste correctly, sooner or later it ends up in the sea. Plastic in particular is a material that is not biodegradable and repeatedly ends up in the stomachs of fish, whales, seagulls, sea turtles and other animals. Pieces of plastic can get stuck in the throat or clog the digestive tract of marine creatures - blocking their airways and food intake. When juveniles become entangled in plastic, it can cause skin damage or deformities as they grow. But the waste can also wash back ashore and pollute beaches and other coastal areas.
In addition to this, microplastics enter the waters and oceans. Microplastics in the ocean are created by the abrasion of car tyres, the washing of plastic textiles or the decomposition of plastic waste. In addition, small plastic particles are added to cosmetic products such as skin creams, scrubs, shower gels and shampoos and enter rivers and oceans through wastewater. Ultimately, humanity will get damage back from this because we are the last link in the food chain.
